Why take the Site Safety course?

In order to continue to operate in the City of New York, the designated construction worker is required to complete a minimum number of hours of approved site safety training and to carry site safety identification cards as proof of completion of the training (as per New York City Local Law 196 of 2017, also known as 'LL196' or 'Local Law'). This course counts toward the site safety training hours required under LL196.

This eight-hour course delivers the core site safety training that designated workers need on New York City construction sites, covering the major jobsite hazards, OSHA fundamentals, and the safe practices that prevent the most common and serious construction injuries.

Training Requirements

• 100% attendance of the online class is mandatory
• Complying with the facial biometric requirement for monitoring attendance
• Achieve a minimum of 70% in the written assessment at the end of the course
• Completion of Evaluation Form at the end of the course

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to:

• Identify the leading construction hazards and how to control them
• Apply OSHA fundamentals and worker rights and responsibilities on the jobsite
• Recognize fall, struck-by, caught-in, and electrocution hazards (the Focus Four)
• Use required PPE, signage, and safe work practices
• Respond to jobsite emergencies and report hazards and incidents
